A halupki is a Ukrainian dish made with beef, pork, and rice encased in cabbage and drizzled with a thin, sweet tomato sauce. This dinner will feature both a dine-in buffet option in the church auditorium from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM as well as a take-out option (ready-to-eat or frozen) from 3:30 to 5:30 PM for pick-up at the church. The dine-in buffet will include halupki, bread, dessert and beverages for $10 per person. The take-out option will include 4 halupki for $15.
The "Heat the Church with Halupki Dinner" will benefit St. Luke's 2024 heat fund. The cost of natural gas has more than doubled in the past 15 months and so must our heat fund. The installation of the new furnace helped to control cost, but even with this more efficient system - our heat bill for 2024 is expected to be around $18,000.
Immediately following the dinner, you are invited to join us for an Evensong for the Second Sunday in Epiphany. This is a sung worship service featuring the St. Luke's Festival Choir.
